Covid-19: Friday Update

Kia ora koutou

The Prime Minister’s announcement that NZ will remain at Alert Level 4 until 11.59pm Tuesday 24 August, means that the school site will remain closed until at least Tuesday. I think this news should also be read with the PM previous comments that any shift down in alert levels would be gradual, so even after Tuesday we are likely to be at Level 3 at best.

I’m currently working with the Coordinators and the teachers to establish what learning from home will look like. I’ll share that info with you on Sunday evening. In the mean time, if you have any learning needs that you think we could help with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your child’s teacher. They may not respond immediately but they will get back to you.

I’ve heard that some of you have personal belongings still at school. It’s important to note that these items will need to remain onsite until I receive information from the MOH and MOE outlining how and when learning info and personal belongings can be collected. Until then rest assured that anything at school is safely locked away just waiting for the Alert Levels to drop.

The important matters for right now however remain the same. Stay in your bubble. If you’re sick get a test. Check the MOH’s Covid 19 site for info should you need it, paying particular attention to what you can and can’t do at Alert Level 4.

Stay safe and I’ll be in touch on Sunday.
